Making changes – outrigger style

Outrigger in Arizona means training, racing and building on dreams with a supportive Ohana. In August, we take on 9-person change races in Dana Point, Oceanside and Catalina Island as part of the Southern California Outrigger Racing Association’s  race circuit.

Sure it’s hot! But outrigger canoeing is about pushing limits. This spirit helps us stay on track to promote our culture and our level of competition on the mainland, in Hawaii, Cook Islands and elsewhere. We are so excited that this October, Na Leo O Ke Kai Men’s Iron crew will be the first in Arizona to take on the Molokai Hoe.

Our individual paddlers will also represent at the Pailolo Challenge and the Chattajack  Challenge this fall. Whether it’s Prone, OC2, OC2, OC6 or V1 – we’re looking to learn, grow and achieve together. Thank you to our families, friends and sponsors for helping us reach toward our goals.
