The SCORA season came to a close with the Catalina Crossing – US Outrigger Championships. 64 women’s and open coed crews raced on Saturday, with Na Leo O Ke Kai ladies finishing 49th and 60 men’s and masters coed crews competed on Sunday, with Na Leo’s men’s crew coming 44th. For many of the crew, it was their novice crossing, and the first crossing of a women’s crew (rather than a coed crew) in 10 years, so spirits were high and all came away with experience to take forward into 2018.
